- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 cup chopped nuts (almonds or pecans work great!)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
- Optional: Sea salt for sprinkling
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan, then add sugar, water, and salt; stir until boiling.
- Stop stirring and boil until the mixture reaches 300°F.
- Remove from heat, stir in nuts and vanilla.
- Pour the mixture onto the baking sheet and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips on top and let them melt, then spread evenly.
- Cool completely, then break into pieces or cut into squares.
