- 4 large croissants, preferably day-old
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cut croissants into bite-sized pieces and arrange in a greased baking dish.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over the croissant pieces.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Pour the custard mixture over the croissants and press down gently. Let sit for 10 minutes.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and set.
- Cool for a few minutes, dust with powdered sugar if desired, and serve warm.
Notes
- Feel free to substitute almond milk for regular milk for a nutty flavor.
