- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Whisk together flour and baking soda in a medium bowl; set aside.
- Cream butter with granulated and brown sugars until fluffy.
- Add salt, vanilla, and eggs; mix until combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture; mix on low until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes (optional).
- Scoop dough onto baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden and centers are soft.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a rack.
