Description

These decadent chocolate chip cookies are egg-free and incredibly delicious.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce (egg substitute)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
  4. Add applesauce and vanilla to the butter mixture and mix until blended.
  5. Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture without over-mixing.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes if desired.
  8. Scoop rounded balls of dough onto a lined baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

  • Chilling the dough is optional but recommended for thicker cookies.
