To create these Cheesy Mississippi Mud Potatoes, you will need the following ingredients:
- 4 large russet potatoes
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup crumbled bacon (optional)
- Chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Wash and peel the potatoes, then cut them into cubes.
- Boil the cubed potatoes in salted water for 15-20 minutes until fork-tender.
- Drain and mash the potatoes until smooth.
- Mix sour cream, cream cheese, melted butter, and milk in a bowl, then add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir into the mashed potatoes.
- Fold in cheddar cheese and bacon, then transfer to a greased baking dish and top with more cheese.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
