A comforting and cheesy dish that combines gnocchi with rich Bolognese sauce and layers of cheese, perfect for sharing.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound gnocchi
  • 2 cups Bolognese sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the gnocchi in salted boiling water until they float, then drain.
  3. Mix the cooked gnocchi with the Bolognese sauce.
  4. Layer half of the gnocchi mixture in a baking dish, add half of the ricotta, and sprinkle with a cup of mozzarella. Repeat.
  5. Sprinkle oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper on top, then bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  6. Let cool slightly, garnish with fresh basil, and serve hot.

Notes

  • Feel free to use homemade Bolognese sauce for richer flavor.
  • For extra creaminess, mix some mozzarella into the ricotta layer.
