Deliciously cheesy stuffed pasta shells filled with a savory beef and ricotta mixture.

Ingredients

  • 20 jumbo pasta shells
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta shells in salted boiling water according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, sauté garlic, then add and brown the ground beef. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, then drain excess fat.
  3. Remove from heat and mix in ricotta cheese and egg until combined.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and spread some marinara sauce in a baking dish. Stuff each shell with the beef and ricotta mixture and place in the dish.
  5. Pour remaining marinara sauce over the shells and top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add herbs or spices to the filling.
  • Garnish with fresh basil before serving for a pop of color.
