- 20 jumbo pasta shells
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta shells in salted boiling water according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, sauté garlic, then add and brown the ground beef. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, then drain excess fat.
- Remove from heat and mix in ricotta cheese and egg until combined.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and spread some marinara sauce in a baking dish. Stuff each shell with the beef and ricotta mixture and place in the dish.
- Pour remaining marinara sauce over the shells and top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add herbs or spices to the filling.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving for a pop of color.
