Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup diced fresh pineapple
  • ½ cup diced red onion
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • Juice of 1 lime

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients by rinsing and drying the tuna steaks and chopping the pineapple, red onion, and cilantro.
  2. Make the seasoning blend by mixing paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
  3. Rub the tuna steaks with olive oil and coat with the spice mixture.
  4. Combine pineapple, red onion, cilantro, and lime juice in a bowl to make the salsa.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  6. Sear the tuna steaks for 2-3 minutes on each side until medium-rare.
  7. Let the cooked tuna rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  8. Slice the tuna against the grain and serve with the pineapple salsa on top.
