- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet and sauté onion until translucent. Add garlic and cook for another minute.
- Add ground beef to the skillet and brown it, breaking it apart until no longer pink.
- Stir in diced tomatoes and Italian seasoning; let simmer for 5 minutes.
- Pour in heavy cream and cook for another 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens.
- Cook orzo in boiling water according to package instructions, then drain and mix into the beef and sauce.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil if desired.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider using fresh herbs.
- This dish can be made ahead and reheated.
