Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar (can substitute with brown sugar for a richer flavor)
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mash the bananas and mix with melted butter.
  3. Add sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla; stir until combined.
  4. In another bowl, mix baking soda and salt with flour.
  5. Fold the dry ingredients into the banana mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in walnuts or chocolate chips if using.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  8. Bake for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
