- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion and sauté for 5 minutes until translucent.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes and add oregano, sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
- Bring to a simmer, reduce heat to low, and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
